Greatest Sermon Ever Preached – That's My King!!!

As a preacher’s kid (P.K) & pastor, I’ve heard many great messages throughout my lifetime. Some messages were quick cures for insomnia while others made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Dr. S.M. Lockridge preached a sermon 25 years ago that rocked my world!

Dr. Shadrach Meshach (S.M.) Lockridge (March 7, 1913 – April 4, 2000) was the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, a prominent African-American congregation located in San Diego, CA.

  • I heard this for the first time a few years ago when a visiting pastor shared it with us. I’ve listened to it several times since. I don’t think it ranks as the greatest sermon ever or even the greatest sermon outside of the Bible (I have a Dream and Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God rank higher for me)… but as far as sound bytes go it is truly fantastic.

I love this sermon, "That's MY King!". It makes me want to jump up and raise my hands to the Lord and praise HIM. Thank you. I noticed you have some things on your site that praise Michael Moore. He should not be praised. He is lost and spreads misinformation. You shouldn't point your flock to inaccurate information. He is getting rich off of his "movies" yet he decries capitalism. Capitalism gives every person a chance to work hard and make it. Unlike socialism and communism that suck the incentive and life out of people so they never try, but just sit back because there's no reason to push themselves. Al Gore gets rich off the "Global Warming/Climate Change" misinformation. He is getting rich and flying in jets, living in a huge carbon footprint electricity sucking house; riding in SUVs, eating tons of meat, but telling everybody else that they shouldn't. That's elitism and we don't need it. The "cap and trade" is really "tax and destroy" way to have bigger and bigger government controlling the people. The government is too big and powerful already and wasteful beyond belief.

Obama is making it bigger and bigger and is trying to make government the answer to all people's needs. WE our the answer to our needs (other than Jesus who is the answer to our salvation). WE need to all work hard and earn a living, NOT depend on the government to handout food, medical care, housing, etc. because that's a way for politicians to enslave people into thinking they can't make it on their own, but to "need" the government. It's the politicians way of ensuring future votes and maintaining control. And how can we be glorifying and voting for a President who wears abortion (live baby slaughter) like a badge of honor? And who actively works hard to destroy God's marriage covenant between a MAN and a WOMAN? And who seeks to let the pesky and annoying elderrly and disabled be left to die to get out of the way and stop using up medical care? The Bible tells us to honor our elders, not throw them away. And how do we gleefully follow a President who bashes Israel and Christianity but praises hateful, murderous, racist Islam?

Love it. And who ever did the video really helped capture the essence of the message.
